The 2022 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAM examination has just been conducted across the federation. Figures indicate that over 1.7m candidates registered and sat for this examination seeking to get places in our tertiary institutions. We have just about 1.7m students pursuing undergraduate programs and another 0.3m in post graduate studies. The yearly admission to all universities in Nigeria is just about 300k.
With over 25m young people seeking to acquire knowledge and skills in Nigeria, we can no longer wait for the world to run away from us. It is imperative we adopt, like every other country in the world, online learning to rack up the numbers of our people with relevant qualifications and skills for national development.
